SEATTLE!!!

Two weeks ago we took a family trip to Seattle to see Alli and Ian.  This was to make up for our missed "Take your kid to work day" last July, not that we needed an excuse. :)  We didn't get to make DNA necklaces, but we had a blast.  Alli and Ian have a 4-level backyard, which is every kids' dream.  New this time was a fire pit on the 4th (bottom) level.  Alli worked on Friday and Ian and Andy golfed, so while I was watching Jonathan inside, the kids had a "sale" in the backyard.  They made paper money and sold various items - to each other.  It was an amazingly long sale considering there were only 3 consumers and those 3 consumers were also retailers.  They sold blueberries (that they picked from Alli and Ian's yard), pine cones, cheese nips, coasters, glass wine stoppers, and various other items that they found around the house. (hopefully they were returned to their appropriate spots) :/  Anyway, that took up basically all day.  We grilled out that night and made s'mores!  All the adventures that day and not one picture. :(

On Saturday we went down to the Locks to watch the boats and the salmon.  It was a beautiful day and we'd never been there before.  The kids had a blast.  Here is the clan watching the boats come in.  This is where they tie up and then they let the water in to raise them up to the level of the other water.  It's technical.

"It's a boat!"  Thanks, Uncle Ian.

Rough life getting pushed around all day.

This is where you could watch the salmon swim.  I think they were trying to get somewhere.  It didn't look like they were trying very hard.  They were huge!!

Walking to lunch.  Alli and Ian are naturals.

We went to an AMAZING fish and chips place.  Actually I think it was a burger place, but we got fish and chips.  Did I say it was AMAZING?!  It was amazing.  I didn't stop to take any pictures since we were eating family style and I didn't want to miss out on any food. :)  Jonathan had reached his limit at this point. (of adventure, not food)

It was so great to have the time with Alli and Ian.  They spoil us, love on the kids, and fulfill my love language of quality time generously.  We drove home overflowing with love. :)

Jonny says thanks for the extra s'more supplies. :)

It was 3 days after we got home that we found out that Andy lost his job.  Fortunately, Alli and Ian have offered their basement for us to live in.  YEEHAW!  :)

You seriously crack me up. Every time I read your blog I'm inspired to get mine going. But reading yours is much more entertaining and takes a lot less time.
