I have to add that I just noticed you can see the "kissing game" in the picture on the corner of the table. I got that when I was for sure less than 7. It has been around a LONG time, and continues to be a favorite with the kids. That marks at least one instance where if a kid throws a fit in a store and refuses to leave the store or even move aisles until said toy is purchased, you might want to consider that it's not just a toy for that kid, but for all the grandchildren to follow. Is $4.99 really too much to ask for that much joy? Purely hypothetical.
Back to Abby. Alli and Ian made their traditional birthday trip to Portland. The kids (and us) look forward to this so much. They are very tolerant to put up with "birthday season". Sorry we couldn't have spaced them a little more. Here is the happy family. :)
We took Abby to Omega for open gym. Not sure who had the most fun. I'll leave that up for debate. Here is Abby climbing the rope:
And Charlie. Maybe I should have cropped out that he is standing on the knot. This is, um, after he descended from the top, of course.
Charlie steam-rolling Andy.
No picture, but "Mr. Stoughton" climbed to the top of the rope and got to write his name on the wall. :)
Omega is awesome because they let you move the equipment around and create whatever you want. Here is Abby with her front handspring set-up.
And Andy with his. :)
Also, no videos or pictures of the gymnastics veterans doing professional skills such as cherry-drops, backbend kick-overs, pull-overs, etc. I think we are under sponsor contracts which prohibit those types of things. (right, Alli?) The verdict is out for who was most sore the next day. I'm sure soreness is evidence of exceptional skills rather than lack of training. It's my blog, I can write whatever I want. :)
