April Fool's

I have created a monster.  I do like April Fool's pranks.  Maybe I should clarify and say I like to be the one playing them.  I usually do them on my mom since she is so gullible, I mean, she plays along so well.  I have eased up on her though as I really have put her through the ringer some years.  I spent the better part of March 31st telling the girls all the neat pranks I have pulled.  Well, on April 1st, I woke up to gel in my hairbrush.  I had to admit that this was a pretty good prank.  The culprit (Abby) also added Andy's "favorite mustard" to his toothpaste.  That didn't go over so well.  Abby was at it all day trying to pull one over on us.

Well, at lunch time, I served up what most closely resembled green slime and convinced the kids that I worked so hard to make them something special.  Abby just stared at it and said, "I don't like it" (without even trying it, of course).  Charlie said, "I don't eat things this color."  Ashley looked at me and said, "Can I at least have it heated?"  I love it.  It was all I could do to not crack up.  I expressed my sadness in their unappreciativness for all of my hard work and effort to make them something really special.  Then Charlie prayed for our meal and included, "Dear Jesus, please help me eat this even though it doesn't even look like food."  Well, his prayers were answered in that I didn't make them eat it.

When the pranks kept rolling on April 2nd, and 3rd...I had to remind Abby that April Fools comes only one day a year.   It's her new favorite holiday. :/
