Ashley update

Ashley, not to be out-goofed, saw a Buzz Lightyear costume that someone gave Charlie (to grow into) and decided to go to infinity and beyond.

Ashley's favorite thing to do is sell stuff from our front lawn.  I have mixed feelings about this for many reasons that I will not go into, but I've seen the kid sell a single flower she picked from the front yard for a buck.  That there is potential.  Anyway, she had a lemonade stand one weekend and I came inside to check on something and when I went back out I saw a police car stopped in front of the stand.

I was hoping they weren't checking for small business permits or something.  No, she actually got the policeman to stop and buy lemonade.  And she didn't even give him a break!  They don't need a break considering what I just paid for my ticket.  (Mom & Dad - nevermind that)  Anyway, it's fun to see what she comes up with to sell.

She is a great older sister.  I am appreciating more and more the "stuff" that first-borns have to deal with that the younger kids don't.  (Sorry for all those times you got in trouble for things I did, Alli.  I'm only realizing now that probably wasn't fair)  Anyway, Charlie LOVES Ashley.  He knows that she will help him and not pin him to the ground and sit on him.  She is great with Abby too, but sometimes has a hard time understanding why Abby wouldn't want "help".  For Teacher Appreciation Day at Abby's school, Ashley decided to write Abby's teacher a note.  Here is a copy of it:

In case it's too small to read, it says "To Mrs. Goudy, Thank you for teaching my sister.  I'm sure Abby is so glad she has a teacher like you.  I've tried to teach Abby some stuff since I am in 2nd grade, but that got out of control, but anyway, thank you for teaching Abby."

I especially like how she implemented the word "control" in a thank you card.  I have a lot to learn from this kid!
